Example - you can only ride a ride using Genie+ once, but if you miss your window - that also counts as you having rode it once. You can cancel before you window opens, but once your window opens - if you miss it, you won't be able to ride that ride for the day using the Lightning Lane. Wow.
That can't be by design? ... it's gotta be a glitch to fix?

I'm assuming you still have to tap into the attraction before you ride. If you miss your window and don't tap in, then G+ should know you never actually rode it and you should be able to select again if available.

Was at Hollywood Studios Sunday and yesterday (10/19). The crowd and wait times were much higher on 10-19. I think many people signed up for LL and you get more bang for you buck at Hollywood Studios. Pre LL on Sunday the lines moved much faster. I monitored it and wait times did not go down much until very late in the day.
Rise of Resistance sold out for individual LL pass early. The ride is a cluster right now though. We have been monitoring it and it has broken down every day at least 2 times each day. We got in park Sunday at 8:05am and line was 90 minutes already. By 10am it was broke and didn’t open for 2-3 hours later. It was down again later in afternoon for a couple hours. Same thing yesterday (10/19). So a posted wait time of 120 minutes in reality could be 240 minutes if you stuck it out due to it breaking down. I have not gone on it which bums me out. It has broken down daily during this visit. Very risky right now to do standby line with it breaking down so much. I have to think they will put individual lighting lane people ahead of standby since they paid but I could be wrong. Just a guess.
We left HS at 1:30 (10/19) and went to Animal Kingdom due to lines so long. We were also at Animal Kingdom Saturday. Lines were much shorter on 10/19. Flight of Passage was 45 minutes around 2:30pm and was 90 minutes on Sunday.
IMO being there before and during roll out parks like Hollywood Studios and MK where lightning lane you can get more rides and value the standby lines will be impacted much more than places like Epcot and Animal Kingdom where not as many attractions that make it worth buying LL passes.
It seemed that a lot of people went to HS on 10-19. By far the longest wait times. That I noticed.

So does everyone think it’s worth getting the basic genie plus for our trip next week? Crowds seem to have gone up so it would be nice not to wait 25 minutes per average ride when we can pay to get right on them.
does anyone know how long the lightning lane line is?
trying to get a boarding pass for remy and rope drop RoR and willing to wait for the rest of the speciality lightning+ rides

are you going to get right on them though? I know i saw a line for genie that was out of the queue for Peter Pan yesterday. I'm still confused how its going to be any better than FP+..you still had to wait in a line for FP, i have a feeling thats going to be the case with genie also.

25 minute lines..id be all over that and wouldnt buy..thats just me though.

Once your ride time is passed, you are considered to have ridden it. Basically, you'd have already taken your G+place on the ride, whether you rode it or not.

Yes, will be on my phone waiting before 7am and right when we get off our ride (or possibly after we scan our bands while in line) grab our next one.

Its not going to be better than fp plus. Its a watered down version of it

Agree. I can't see this making my visit any different, yet now all of a sudden I'm paying for it. Fortunately the cost isn't as high as was once rumored on here though, but I guess making you feel that way was probably the purpose of the rumor.

So you're saying maybe "Lightning Lane" was a misnomer? :rotfl:

I don't know if anyone knows the answer but when I looked at the app this morning around 7:30 my time (10:30 EST) it said there were no lightning lanes for Slinky Dog. Did all of them get taken between 7am and 10am EST? I didn't notice that happening quite as fast the past two days so I was wondering if anyone else had seen that too.

if thats true its a shame. I dont really understand why disney doesnt stagger the release of attractions throughout the day.

An interesting comparison of Disney Genie (the free planner) versus TouringPlans. This was done by TouringPlans, so you could claim that this is fixed or something - but it does seem like they gave it an honest try.

You can say Genie is just trying to send the person to places that are less crowded - but if you tell it you want to ride 12 rides, and it spends the day having you ride things other than what you asked for, and then just 2 of the rides you do want - that doesn't seem like it is a very good planner.

They seem like super honest brokers. I think being the size and the type o company they are, it's to their best interest anyways. I trust it :)

Obviously two days is an extremely small sample size but based on the wait times that are being reported online by allears I predict that the first change to IA$ will be dropping Space and replacing it with either Pan or JC.

Thanks for providing link to Touring Plans live stream…
Would be funny if Genie drives everybody to start using the better Touring Plans APP and Disney ultimately buys them out at a much higher price.

We gotta remember, these are slow days. I think they are gonna wait till after thanksgiving till they make major changes, maybe even after the new year. All the other changes will be small (like today's change with the ILL$ slots and Rise).

I know we are only a few days in but what I am seeing watching from home is I have the same issue with Genie+ that I had with Maxpass at DL. By the time you get to mid-day to late afternoon there are no times left for the headliner rides included in the price. I know every day will be different and it's still hard to tell but this was my worry when it was announced. It's hard to justify the daily price when you may not be able to use it on the rides that are included.

You either have to rope drop the headliners or book them as your first LL of the day.
